CatwalkLK is run by people who have spent two decades casting, booking and looking after models in Sri Lanka. Not a directory built by a software company that has never been on a set at six in the morning in Colombo.

Where this came from

Twenty years of shoots, shows and campaigns teaches you where the same problems keep coming back. A client needs a Tamil-speaking woman, 165 cm or over, available in Jaffna on Thursday, and the search for her happens across four WhatsApp groups and a folder of comp cards that are two years out of date. A new model sends her photos to a number a friend gave her and never hears anything again. A shoot wraps and the fee turns out to be different from the one that was mentioned on the phone.

None of that is a technology problem on its own. But a register that is built by people who have watched it happen can be shaped to stop it. That is what this is.

What the experience is actually for

We know what a casting director needs to see. The fields on a profile here are the ones that decide a booking — current measurements, real usage terms, the categories of work a model will genuinely accept. Not a social feed with a follower count on it.

We check the profiles ourselves. Every registration is reviewed by our team before it goes live. Photos have to be of the person registering. Details have to be complete. Anyone under 18 has to have a named parent or legal guardian with consent recorded before the profile is visible at all.

We know how new models get taken advantage of. Two decades is long enough to have seen every version of it — the fee for a portfolio that leads nowhere, the “test shoot” with no one else in the room, the job that pays less than was said. The rules on this platform are written directly against those.

We know what a fair brief looks like. A casting call cannot be published here without a real fee attached, and the usage has to be stated before anyone applies. Those are not negotiable settings.

What we do not do

We do not charge models. Not to register, not to be listed, not to apply, and we take no commission from anyone’s booking. Our income comes from the companies posting work. If anyone contacts you claiming to be from CatwalkLK and asks you for money, it is not us — tell us and we will deal with it.

We are not your agent. We do not sign models to exclusive contracts or stand between you and the client. What you agree with a company is yours.
